Cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens have been receiving a lot of attention lately. Many famous people are interested in them, such as Jack Dorsey, Elon Musk, and others. Digital artwork, music, and other digital collectibles have also been sold on different NFT marketplaces by good artists and creators. Almost $500,000 USD was sold by a Canadian artist in March 2021 for a "virtual home" he made.
In the Crypto world, NFT marketplaces already sell digital art, music, AI-generated art, and digital collectibles. Nevertheless, selling books on these NFT marketplaces, especially Sci-Fi, fiction, and best-selling self-help books, hasn't been done yet and requires a good architecture-based platform. As a result, "Bookverse" came into being: a platform for writers to sell their books as non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Here's What Bookverse Does to Fix it
An ebook we purchase online, such as on Amazon, does not belong to us like a real book we can keep forever. Although we obtained an ebook from one of these online services, we will only be able to keep it as long as Amazon or the other service continues to offer it. That book would disappear with Amazon's platform if it went bankrupt tomorrow or ceased offering its services, but we had already purchased it. Do you agree? Although we own the property, Amazon doesn't have a moral or physical contract with us to provide its services. Our government bans Amazon's services, but Amazon wants to keep providing them, who should we talk to? As a result, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) share more in common with print books than with digital ones. There will be no letting go of it at the whim of the government, group, or outside entity. Our NFTs aren't copies of books, but specific copies within a collection. For a given book, consider its first, second, and so forth editions. Furthermore, when an ebook is sold on Amazon or another website, the author gets a very small cut compared to their efforts. Therefore, we need an outside-the-box solution, and Bookverse would be a great fit for that.
